EIT Health I-Days

This week, Dundalk Institute of Technology hosted the EIT Health Innovation Days (I-Days) — a dynamic two-day event dedicated to creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving in healthcare.

Centred around the theme of Psoriasis, students from across DKIT came together to tackle this chronic condition that affects over 73,000 people in Ireland. Over two action-packed days, participants worked in teams, guided by mentors, to develop innovative ideas and practical solutions to improve patient outcomes.

We are delighted to announce that Team Psora Corp, made up of Max Crinion-Morgan, Tomáš Buchta, Vidhaeha Jayasinghe, and Thomas Oderinde, emerged as this year’s winners!

Their winning concept brings UVB phototherapy into the home, empowering individuals with mild to moderate psoriasis to manage their condition more easily and effectively. By reducing the need for frequent clinic visits, the Psora Corp device offers greater convenience, freedom, and consistency in treatment — addressing one of the major challenges faced by those living with psoriasis.

Competing against seven other talented teams, Psora Corp impressed the judges with their creativity, feasibility, and user-centred design. The team will now go on to represent DKIT at the EIT Health i-Days Final in Paris this November, where they will compete against other top student innovators from across Europe.

Congratulations once again to the Psora Corp team and to all participants who showcased their talent, teamwork, and passion for innovation in healthcare!
